Dr. Goodwin is Board Certified in Insurance Medicine and Internal Medicine, with specialty certification in Geriatrics. Dr. Goodwin's recent insurance carrier background includes VP and Chief Medical Director at a well-known and respected reinsurance carrier. She speaks the language and her expertise levels the playing field with underwriters and medical directors alike.
Dr. Goodwin literally "wrote the book" on Gerontology. She is published in the "Older Age Underwriting" chapter in Brackenridge's Medical Selection of Life Risks, a book found on the desks of all insurance carrier medical directors.
Dr. Goodwin is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, with a fellowship sub-specialty in Geriatrics and Gerontology. She is a graduate of the University of Nebraska's Medical College and did her undergraduate work at Gustavus Adolphus College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Goodwin was in private practice for two years in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics from 1991 to 1993.
